After some problems, now finally the CSD Budapest is canceled.
After some stop and go for the Christopher Street Day in Budapest at the 18th of july, it seems like its finally canceled.
The police backed down the permission for the parade. The CSD Budapest 2011 was allready sumitted and allowed, when the presenter wanted to change the parades route to pass the parliament. The police took this chance to cancel the parade, whith the justification, that the traffic volume will increase. One of the aims of the CSD 2011 was to demonstrate against the new constitution, which is going to ban gay- marriages.
Yesterday, thousands gays and lesbians celebrated the Berlin Gay Pride Parade under the motto ” Normal is different”.
Yesterday ten thousands gays and lesbians celebrated the Christopher Street Day, also known as Berlin Gay Pride, with a big, colourfull parade through the City. Under the motto “Normal is different” nearly 250.000 people followed the line of 50 floats which converted Berlin center into the biggest german party area.
Like every year, Berlin was just one date in a whole list of european gay pride parades! The next big gay pride parade in Europe will be in Cologne, including the Cologne Gay Games 2010, which is one of the biggest gay sport events in the world.
Since some time the journey market discovers the gay traveller as new customer base.
The gay community ist much more in motion than the heterosexual people and so its no suprise that gay men are traveling much more than heterosexual. In the last time the travel business recognized that and is now focusing on gay men as new target group.
Nearly in every bigger city you can find a gay hostel, which specialized to gay men as customers. This kind of hostels are interesting for gay travellers, particularly while the CSD or the Gay Pride, because there they are under one’s peers. Also, in the majority of cases, the gay hostels are located nearby the gay-and lesbian scene.
